...Or portrait of teenage angst. Depressed kid looks away from the potential brightness of his future. Photoshop 7 piece took a sleepless night to create.

Hmm, I like the peice, the idea behind it is neat, and I'm glad you explained the metaphor because I really, really suck at identifying them myself. The metaphor explanation really adds to the piece. One crit I'd like to mention, however, is that the arching of his eyebrow takes away from the feeling of sadness for me... the rest of his face says depression, but the eyebrow just seems to be so happy feeling that he just looks like he is happy but just blinked, rather than depressed. Kind of like the effect you get when you take a photo of someone and catch them blinking.

I hear ya... I was thinking more along the angst angle. Not drowning in depression, but apprehensive about what is to come. Some fear, some excitement and a whole lot of uncertainty.

i like it but unless you said it i wouldnt have see him as a teenager i saw him as a 40 year old when i first saw it.

Hey, different strokes for different folks my man. He's a "mature" teenager. :)

I drew in kind of an ambiguous style to try and art it up a bit.
